Building Financial Confidence Through Real Understanding
Since 2019, we've been helping people in Belgium and beyond make sense of investing. Not through flashy promises or complicated jargon, but through clear education that actually sticks.
How We Got Here
Starting Flruftex wasn't part of some grand plan. It grew from watching too many people avoid investing because they felt it was too complicated or risky.
The Beginning
We started with weekend workshops in Mouscron, teaching basic investment concepts to small groups. The response surprised us – people were hungry for straightforward information without the sales pitch.
Expanding Reach
After two years of refining our approach based on actual student feedback, we launched structured programs. What worked in person translated well online, and we started reaching people across Belgium and neighboring countries.
Deepening Impact
By this point, we'd helped over 800 people start their investment journeys. The most rewarding part? Hearing how students built confidence to make their first trades, ask better questions, and think critically about their money.
Looking Forward
Today we're focused on what matters most – creating content that genuinely helps, not just fills space. Our autumn 2025 programs will introduce new formats based on what our community has asked for over the past year.
What Drives Our Work
Clear Communication
We avoid financial jargon when plain language works better. And when technical terms matter, we explain them properly instead of assuming everyone knows.
Realistic Expectations
Investing isn't magic, and we don't pretend it is. Our programs focus on building understanding over time, not promising overnight success or guaranteed returns.
Practical Application
Theory matters, but only if you can use it. Every concept we teach connects to real scenarios you'll actually encounter when managing your investments.
Continuous Improvement
We regularly update our materials based on student questions and market changes. What worked three years ago might need adjustment today.
Who Makes This Happen
Our small team brings different backgrounds together. We don't all agree on everything investment-related, which makes for better discussions and more balanced perspectives.
Albin Desmedt
Lead EducatorSpent twelve years in portfolio management before switching to education. Still invests actively, which keeps him grounded in what actually works versus what sounds good on paper.
Lucien Bosmans
Program DirectorCame from a teaching background and brought structure to our early chaos. His knack for breaking complex ideas into digestible pieces shaped how we design all our courses.
What You Can Expect From Us
We're not trying to be everything to everyone. Our programs work best for people who want to understand investing well enough to make informed decisions themselves.
That means we focus on education rather than advice, principles rather than hot tips, and building skills that last beyond current market trends.
- Content updated regularly based on market conditions and student feedback
- Direct access to instructors who remember what it's like to be confused by financial terminology
- Materials you can revisit anytime, because nobody absorbs everything on the first pass
- A community of fellow learners at similar stages in their investment journey
